Founder’s Note

The heart behind LIViQ.

A personal note from Elizabeth Olsen on independence, dignity, and the need for calmer ways to understand what is changing over time.

There is a question I keep returning to.

It’s quiet. Ordinary, even.

I’m watching my daughter move through her day, safe, content, surrounded by people who care for her deeply, and beneath all of it lives the same thought so many families carry:

What happens next?

Not tomorrow.
Not next year.

But years from now, when the constant vigilance, advocacy, planning, and adjustment can no longer rest entirely on our shoulders.

My daughter attends preschool on a campus where adults with disabilities live and work. It is one of the most beautiful places I know.

The dignity.
The belonging.
The joy.

And yet standing there, I often feel two things at once: comforted by what’s possible, and confronted by how fragile independence can feel without the right support systems around it.

Families like ours are often told, quietly or directly, that safety and independence exist in tension. That peace of mind requires constant watching. That protection comes at the cost of freedom.

But what if that isn’t true?

What if families don’t need more alarms, but better understanding over time?

What if support could feel calmer?
More human?
Less reactive?

LIViQ was born from that space between love and fear, vigilance and hope.

Not to replace care, but to support it with calmer, more humane understanding.

Because the most important signals in supported living aren’t incidents, they’re changes in stability over time.

We believe subtle shifts matter.
We believe patterns deserve context.
And we believe independence should be supported, not restricted.

LIViQ is built around a simple idea: that better insight should protect independence, not limit it.

If you are here reading this, I believe it’s because you understand this tension too.

Maybe you live it.
Maybe you witness it every day.
Maybe you carry responsibility for people the world too often overlooks, yet who are profoundly precious.

This work begins with a simple belief:

Families deserve confidence, not just endurance.

And the people we love deserve lives that are not only safe, but truly their own.

Thank you for being here.
